News We’ve got three years in the Michealsen center under our belt and things have changed a lot in that time. We have basketball, volleyball, badminton, European football, aerobics and handball for amateur and the seasoned athlete. With guests ranging from Lithuanian National basketball teams to Russian and Ukrainian professional teams, the Michealsen center is becoming a fixture on the basketball scene in this region. From the young players at our summer basketball camps to the “seasoned” players from our outside business rental groups, people young and old have been enjoying the friendly walls of our sports complex.

Basketball LCC’s “Moose” men’s basketball team is in full swing. This year’s team is again playing in Klaipeda’s city league “B” level this year and is off to a great start. An opening 100-88 league win against powerhouse team Lietuvos bankas has our guys off to a great start.

European Football LCC’s “Kicks” are at it again, preparing for play in the Lithuanian Colleges and Universities league. After a semi final showing at last year’s city league tournament, the guys are back in the swing of things.

Intramurals Intramurals are going strong, opening with the traditional volleyball tournament. Other activities that the Recreation and Sports committee is sponsoring include 3 0n 3 basketball, 5 on 5 indoor football, LCC cup (short tournament) events in b-ball, football, volleyball, strongman and overall athlete competitions as well as the potential for indoor hockey.

Aerobics Aerobics is back again this year with instructors Ana and Alisa. Programs run Monday through Saturday daily in the evenings.
