external funding model
Considering the financial implications is an important part of serving with LCC.
In order to offer an affordable education that is accessible to all students,
LCC relies on outside funding sources to cover costs for faculty and staff.
As
Lithuania is a low-cost area, some faculty and staff choose to fund themselves.
LCC understands, however, that not everyone can do this. The university works with
prospective faculty and staff to identify and create funding networks.
Currently,
approximately 30 percent of LCC's faculty and staff are self-supported, 40 percent
have partial or full funding through external organizations like mission agencies
and foundations, and 30 percent have developed a funding network through their
church, family and friends.
The basic costs for an assignment at LCC include:
travel, housing, living allowance, long-term visa, and medical insurance.

find our 'Developing Your Funding Plan' handbook to be helpful. Although this
handbook is more specifically for individuals who have already committed to coming
to LCC, the information is also useful for those who are in the process of making
a decision.
