Lithuanian residents will be placed in the appropriate level language courses based on a proficiency exam. Non-Lithuanian students must take Introduction to Lithuanian I but may substitute an approved language or culture course for Introduction to Lithuanian II.
Lithuanian Placement Examinations All students who are residents of Lithuania are required to take a minimum
of eight credit hours from the Lithuanian Studies program. According to Lithuanian
placement examination results (given each spring at LCC), students will take
appropriate required courses. If students are exempted from a required course,
they may choose their second course from the Lithuanian Culture and Lithuanian
Linguistics electives.

minor
A minor in Lithuanian Studies is helpful within whatever profession a
person chooses. For Lithuanian residents, effective language usage and
an understanding of national culture provide a basis for self-identity.
A student can obtain a minor in Lithuanian Studies by taking 24 credits
from the culture and linguistics sections.
