Talent Show Brings Together LCC PerformersStudent performers entertained a full audience with song, dance and humorous skits at the Spring Talent Show on April 18th. Student council organized the event, which had a “mafia” theme and filled the Michealsen Centras Gymnasium with a variety of skills. |
LCC Hosts Blood DriveIt is not everyday that LCC Internationala University students are able to take 30 minutes to help save a life. On April 16th, the National Blood Centre from Klaipeda came to LCC for a blood drive. Students and faculty were able to donate throughout the morning and afternoon. |
Celebration of Nine National Independence DaysMany countries celebrate the anniversary of their independence one day of the year, often with food and patriotic festivities. This spring, LCC students from ten different countries have the opportunity to teach others about their culture and celebrate their country’s independence- whether or not the actual day falls during the course of the semester. |
Class Project Raises Awareness of Mental Health IssuesLCC students enrolled in Abnormal and Social Psychology courses were given the opportunity to demonstrate and share their knowledge with their peers during the week of March 31st-April 4th. The theme of the week was “Mental Health Awareness”, and was intended to raise awareness of issues that are relevant to the student body. |

Challenging Students to Confront StereotypesIn an effort to contribute to local community and Lithuania as a whole, LCC International University is beginning a program working with high school students that will raise their awareness and tolerance of other cultures. The program is called CMAP, which stands for Community Multicultural Awareness Project. |
LCC Hosts National Public Speaking CompetitionLCC International University hosted the 11th National Public Speaking Competition on March 7th. The competitors included 27 students between the ages of 16 and 20 from 17 different cities throughout Lithuania. They were accompanied by teachers, families and friends who watched and supported them throughout the day. |
Annual Career Fair Invited Students for the 8th TimeEvery college student must think about what they will do after graduation. In February the Career Development Center sought to aid the college students from throughout Klaipeda by offering a series of seminars and a career fair to provide occupational guidance and contacts with businesses. Though the event was held on campus, LCC International University worked with six other colleges from around Klaipeda to host the 8th annual career fair. |
LCC Represented at Educational Fair in VilniusThe 6th annual Learning, Studies and Career Fair took place at the Litexpo Center in Vilnius from February 21st - 23rd. The educational fair offered a variety of opportunities for youth and adults to learn about higher education options, promising occupations, career planning and other ways to develop their skills and knowledge. |

Creating Dialogue and Community Through FilmSince December 18th, 2007 LCC International University is home for “Klaipėdos Krikščioniškas Kitokio Kino Klubas” (Christian Film Club of Klaipėda, showing distinctive movies that present challenging ideas). Virginija Martusevičienė created this club after she heard a radio program about a similar club in Kaunas that has been functioning for more than six years. |
The Last Site Visit Takes LCC Closer to Psychology Program ApprovalLCC International University took another step towards being approved to offer a degree in psychology on Wednesday, January 30th. A team of four individuals from the Quality Study Center (SKVC), Vilnius University, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, and a business consulting agency spent the afternoon on campus in order to assess LCC’s readiness for implementation of the psychology program and to tour the facilities. |
Saltshaker Conference Shakes Up ParticipantsOver 80 people from throughout Lithuania recently attended the 6th Saltshaker conference held at LCC International University. The conference has developed a tradition of bringing together young people from throughout the region for a weekend of listening to speakers, Christian fellowship, and hopefully some fun as well. |
Opening Doors for New GenerationsLast Saturday more than 50 prospective students from various Lithuanian cities and abroad, came to LCC International University to attend Open Door Days. This is an annual event where young people and their parents are invited to LCC to learn about how this institution can be a part of their future. Visitors are able to tour the campus, talk to officials, and students, and get other information about LCC. .They also had the chance to fill out an application form and start the admission process. |
First International Academic Conference at LCC International UniversityOn April 11-12th, 2008 LCC International University will be hosting its first international academic conference “Culture and Dialogue: An International Conference on Interdisciplinary Research and the Future of Higher Education.” |
Christmas Pageant Invites UnityThe 7th and 8th of December were special days at LCC International University. During those days representatives from 21 countries were united in the Christmas pageant. More than 180 people participated in this spectacular event. Students, together with faculty and staff, led by Dave Rhodes, an LCC Student Life Staff Member, were singing songs, dancing and acting out the Biblical story of the birth of Christ. |
Angel Tree Serves City CommunityEvery December LCC International University community brings peace and hope to several families in Klaipėda. Thanksgiving Traditions Spread in LithuaniaLCC International University as an international community is used to many different customs. One of such wonderful traditions is Thanksgiving Day which orginated from United States. LCC hosts many students and professors from the US, therefore Thanksgiving is also celebrated at the university. |
Rotary Scholarship for LCC StudentThis year one of the Rotary branches in Lithuania, Aditė, provided a scholarship for a LCC International University student.
